InnoTech Arcade Reviews Wonder Boy
The Nintendo Entertainment System had a large number of side-scrolling action games that featured heavy difficulty, 8-bit graphics, and plenty of retro action. This has led to numerous modern takes on classic gameplay and graphics, such as 2014’s Shovel Knight. On today’s episode of InnoTech Arcade, we take a look at Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap, a retro-inspired game that puts an interesting twist on the graphics of the NES era of gaming.
In the game Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap, you control a sword-wielding protagonist plunging their way through a world full of castles, trolls, and, of course, dragons. However, there’s an interesting twist found in the graphics, as you can actually control the quality. With the simple push of a button, you can switch between modern graphics and retro 8-bit graphics, allowing you to experience the game like it’s 2018 and 1988 alike.
The episode also features the debut of Evan as a co-host on InnoTech Arcade following the mysterious disappearance of former co-host Alex. Is the game any good? Is Evan a fan of Yoshi? Will we find out what happened to Alex in this episode? You’ll just have to watch the video below and find out.
